The translucent umbrellas are also know =n as "soft-white" umbrellas. They provide the softest level of light, but also do not reflect as much lght as umbrellas with a black backing as some of the light shoots through the umbrella. But this also makes them very useable as "shoot-through" diffusers as well as umbrellas. The larger the umbrella the wide the area of coverage.
