We would like to emphasize that as a drop-off hub, our role is to facilitate the process of sending your camera or lens for repair. However, we want to make it clear that we are not responsible for the actual repair of the equipment. Any issues or liabilities pertaining to the repair process are the sole responsibility of the repair vendor.
Furthermore, we want to highlight that we do not have the ability to predict or guarantee an estimated time of arrival for the repaired equipment. The timeline for repair and return is determined solely at the discretion of the repair vendor. Factors such as their workload, availability of parts, and other variables can influence the time it takes for your equipment to be repaired and returned to you.
Please understand that our role as a drop-off hub is limited to facilitating the initial process, and we have no control over the repair timeline or any potential delays.
Upon receipt of the item by the repair company, the estimation process typically takes approximately four to seven business days. During this time, the repair experts will carefully assess the item and provide an estimate detailing the costs associated with the necessary repairs. Once the estimate has been approved by you in writing, it is important to note that prepayment for the estimated amount is required before the repair can commence. This prepayment ensures that the repair company can begin the necessary work promptly. Rest assured, our goal is to provide you with a streamlined and efficient repair experience.
If the repair is declined, the only charge will be for shipping. Once we receive the item back from the repair station, we will contact you to pick it up. Please note that anything not picked up within 90 days of return to the PCH will be deemed as abandoned.
In rare instances, after the initial estimate is provided, repair costs may change due to the discovery of internal damage that was not initially seen. This is fairly common with sand and salt water damage. The decision to change the estimated costs is solely at the discretion of the repair company. We will contact you upon receipt of any changes.
